The 72nd Civic Night, held by the Hazard Perry County Chamber of Commerce at the First Federal Center on HCT’s campus on September 3, 2026. The night was a testament to the power of community and service. Chancellor Jennifer Lindon presented State Representative Chris Fugate and State Senator Brandon Smith with the Community Leadership Award for their tireless efforts. ARH received the Education Leadership Award and John Hoppe received the Philanthropic Leadership Award, Mayor Mobelini and Judge Alexander recognized Donna Baker for her twenty plus years of service to our community as the Field Rep for Senator Mitch McConnell’s office. Timothy W. Deaton-Conway presented the Appalachian Arts Alliance Award to the visionary duo Steven and Maggie Prosser. Awards were given to Margie Duff as Young Woman of the Year, Ricky Campbell as Young Man of the Year, Tammy Napier Hignite as Woman of the Year, and Scott McReynolds as Man of the Year.

The William D Gorman Humanitarian Award honored the selfless work of Joe and Ambassador Kelly Craft. Special thanks to Steven Hensley for emceeing. Appalachian Wireless for sponsoring the dinner, South of 80 for the dinner music, and all the participants who made the evening unforgettable.
